Normatec Compression Therapy

Dynamic air compression effectively mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms, enhancing the movement of fluid and metabolites out of the limbs after an intense workout. Studies show it can help relieve muscle aches and/or pain and temporarily increase circulation resulting in increased flexibility and range of motion, injury prevention, and accelerated recovery time.

FAQs

What can I expect to feel after treatment?

Chiropractic treatment is safe, effective, and has very few side effects. The most common side effects reported are temporary soreness and sleepiness. Other modalities such as instrument-assisted soft tissue technique (IASTM) and myofascial cupping can caused temporary, localized bruising (petechiae), swelling, and soreness. Contraindications to any of our modalities or adjustments will be identified and addressed during the initial health history and examination.

How long can I wear my KT Tape/ RockTape and how do I take it off?

Length of wear will depend on the type of kinesiology tape used, where it was applied, and your body’s skin characteristics. Your provider will make sure to discuss this with you at the time of application. Here are some general recommendations.

  1. #2 tape can typically be worn for 2-4 days.

  2. #3 tape can typically be worn for 3-5 days.

  3. If you notice any skin reactions while wearing the tape such as itching, redness, or swelling at the application site, remove the tape immediately. RockTape and KT Tape are latex free.

  4. The ends of the tape might start to come up peel after extended wear. If the rest of tape is still intact, you can carefully trim off the edges. It is highly advised to have someone assist you with this task to avoid accidental injury.

  5. When you are ready to remove the tape, there are a few options. You can lightly soak the tape with baby oil or remove it after soaking in a warm shower. The tape can be removed while dry, but the previously mentioned options are generally more comfortable.

  6. No matter what removal option you choose, please remove the tape slowly and carefully. The strong adhesive properties of this tape can cause skin abrasions if removed improperly.
